Formed in 2004 by Dan Fordham, Fordham Consulting Ltd is a firm of Structural Engineering Consultants based in Cambridge. Our team has a wide range of experiences allowing us to have a diverse set of viewpoints. Our flexible and open approach to solutions mean we have built a long standing customer base across East Anglia, London and the South East. We offer a wide range of services to suit the varying needs of our customers, whether they are domestic clients, developers, Architects, contractors and even artists.


Dan Fordham


Dan is a Chartered Structural Engineer, member of The Institution of Structural Engineers and Fellow of The Chartered Association of Building Engineers. He sits on several panels with both associations; is the Vice-Chair of the Membership and Professional Standards Committee with CABE; and has been accepted as a Board Member of CABE in 2020. With over 25 years in the construction industry, Dan has extensive experience in the Residential and Domestic sectors and enjoys the complex and quirky problems.

Nigel Hills

Senior Engineer

Nigel joined F.C.L as a Senior Engineer in 2014. Previous to joining, Nigel attained a degree in Design Technology and a second degree in Civil Engineering. He soon progressed from a Graduate Engineer to Senior Structural Engineer gaining experience in structures, specialising in reinforced concrete and steelwork design and detailing. He is a Chartered Building Engineer with the Chartered Association of Building Engineers and is currently working towards CEng grade with the Engineering Council.

Dimitrios Kalpakis

Structural Engineer

Dimitrios joined FCL in July 2018. Previously he worked for a Structural Engineering Consultancy focussing on residential buildings. He studied Environmental & Civil Engineering at Democritus University of Thrace in Greece and then moved to the UK for a MSc degree in UCL Construction Economics & Management. Dimitrios is a chartered member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and Graduate Member of ICE.

Rodoula Georgala

Structural Engineer

Rodoula joined F.C.L in July 2017. She is a Civil and Structural Engineer, specializing in building structures, with more than 10 years of experience in both the private and public sectors. She graduated from the Democritus University of Thrace with a M.Sc. degree in the design of reinforced concrete, following her degree in Civil Engineering. Her experience involves structural design and complex detail drawings for RC public buildings, e.g. educational, civic, listed, as well as residential private works. Since being with F.C.L Rodoula has been involved in a variety of domestic and residential projects, from major structural alterations and loft conversions to house extensions and new build houses.

Adam Few

Senior CAD Technician

Adam joined F.C.L in August 2015 once completing his extended diploma in the Build Environment. He is currently our Senior CAD Technician and during his time with us has undertaken a wide range of project’s in the commercial and residential sector, with a great eye for detail. With the use of Autodesk Advance Steel, Adam creates 3 dimensional buildings for our clients visualisation and ease of build. Alongside his career at F.C.L one day a week Adam is studying to complete his full Architecture Technology Degree at Anglia Ruskin University. He is an associate member of CIAT and soon to become an associate member of CABE.

Chloe Rush

Office Manager

Chloe joined FCL in November 2018 to manage the office administration. She has since gone on to overseeing the HR responsibilities, company policies and health & safety. Chloe has a strong background in Administration and has previously worked in the Pharmaceutical and building industries.

Elena Rubio Mota

Structural Engineer

Elena joined F.C.L In September 2019. She holds a degree in Building Structural Engineering and Management from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain. With three years’ experience working as a site engineer and manager in the new construction of bespoke buildings, deep drainage and general infrastructure works. With two years working for Cambridgeshire Highways in the design and analysis of historical and new highways structures, specialising in bridges and big culverts. Now back to her roots working in the building industry with FCL, focusing in the residential sector and working towards becoming chartered with the ISTructE.
